ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਮੁਸ ਮੁਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਲਿਬੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਜੀ ਹੋਈ, ਢਕੀ ਹੋਈ

ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ , ਚਗਲੀ ਹੋਈ, ਛਟੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੁਤਰੀ ਹੋਈ, ਛਿਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਗੰਢੀ ਹੋਈ, ਤ੍ਰਪੀ ਹੋਈ.

ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਫੁਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ, ਸੁਜ਼ਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੰਦ ਬੰਦ, ਆਕੜੀ ਹੋਈ, ਐਂਠੀ ਹੋਈ

ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਪੂਰੇ ਦਿਨਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ , ਆਲਸੀ ਹੋਈ, ਹਫੀ ਹੋਈ ਢਹਿ ਢਹਿ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੋਈ

ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ, ਝਗ ਝਗ ਬੁਲੀਆ ਤੇ, ਮੈਲ ਮੈਲ ਦੰਦੋ -ਦੰਦ , ਕੂੜ ਦੀ ਪੰਡ ਨਿਰੀ. ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਫਾਈਲ ਹਰਜਾਈ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਂ

Again, She has Come

again, she has come smiling coyly doused in venom veiled, concealed

again, she has come disgraced, decrepit clipped , smacked sewn, stitched

again, she has come puffed up body swollen limbs numbed, stiffened

again, she has come in the last days slumberous, exhausted collapsing

again, she has come frothing mouth begrimed teeth like a pile of trash again, the file has come like a fallen woman

I really like the poem and the comparison made in here. But don’t understand the exact meaning of ‘fallen’ women or ' harjaayee' aurat.

‘harjayee’ means the one who is indifferent, carefree and bold. In Urdu verse, its used to represents beloved who does not acknowledge your love or is indifferent to your lovesick plight. Fallen woman literally means a sex worker, or a woman who has what society calls ‘loose’ character. but in translation i could not find appropriate word for Harjaayee, and as a sex worker is indifferent, care free and bold, moreover as the poem depicts weariness of the file/woman and hence the unwelcoming recipient, so i used this word.

ਨਹੀਂ -ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿਣਾ….. ਇਲਾਹੀ ਖੁਸੀ ਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਔਣ ਦੀ ਤੇ ਉਹ -ਤੇਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਵੇਲੇ, ਦਰਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਫੀ ਨਹੀ ਮੰਗੇਗੀ…….. ਨਹੀਂ-ਕੋਈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਲਫਜ ਤਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਹੁਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਲਰ ਦਾ ਸਰਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਸੀ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਲਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਗਾਲ ਨਹੀ ਕੱਢਾਂਗੀ………… ਵੇਖ ਲਫਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੜਾਕ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਦਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਪਏ.. ਉਹ ਜਾਗ ਉਠੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੀਕਣ ਕਹਾਂਗੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਦੀ ‘ਵਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰੀਦੀ… ਮੈਂ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਥ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਬਰੂ, ਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੀ… ਨਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿਣਾ…..
