ਪਿਘਲਦੀ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਵਹੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ | ਇਹ ਫੁਆਰੇ ਪਿਆਸ ਦੇ ਹਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ |

ਤੁਰ ਗਿਆ ਕੋਈ ਦਿਲ ‘ਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਾਦਗੀ | ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਚਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ |

ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਟਿਕਆ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ | ਹਾਰ ਵੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦੀ ਮਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ |

ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਛੋਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ | ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਚੋਂ ਗਮੀਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ |

ਸਿਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਸੰਗਰਾਮੀਏ | ਕੀ ਐ ‘ਦਿਲ’ ! ਜੇ ਹਮਸਫਰ ਹਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ |

Lal Singh Dil was one of the greatest punjabi poets of “Jujhaaru” era, along with Paash, Sant Ram Udaasi , Amarjit Chandan and others .. He was from ‘dalit’ background and was part of many people’s movement’s in mid Seveneties,including naxalite movement. Poet died on 14 August , 2007
